The Row: Ares House made its debut at Art Basel Miami Beach, offering an IRL glimpse into the members-only virtual real estate community. The installation, featuring designs from internationally acclaimed artist Daniel Arsham, was a highlight of Miami Design District's official programming during the famed international art fair’s 20th-anniversary edition.

The experience was launched in collaboration with legal and creative partner Jayaram, creative production partner Future Galerie, and virtual world building platform Mona.

A One-of-a-Kind Metaverse Installation

The installation included a real-life metaverse experience that seamlessly interlaced 3D projection mapping to showcase a digitally-enhanced version of Ares House, a monumental digital structure that looked like it might have existed in an ancient, otherworldly civilization. The experience allowed patrons to explore the interior and exterior of Ares House, which surrounded the physical installation elements, including Arsham-designed furniture and sculptural works.

“There is tremendous opportunity to leverage different mediums in the metaverse,” says Daniel Arsham, who is delighted to have premiered the work in his hometown of Miami. “There are no limitations on scale, gravity, building codes, or material costs. There are no seasons, no change of the day, or weather. When creating Ares House for The Row, I wanted to really push the boundaries on how we perceive and interact with these environments, but yet still retain elements that evoke familiarity. And now, with this installation, we’re able to create this otherworldly experience that you can actually move through, but which in reality, couldn’t physically exist on this planet in its totality.”

Further along inside the experience, guests were directly transported into the metaverse to explore the other architectural landmarks designed by celebrated artists Misha Kahn, Andrés Reisinger, Alexis Christodoulou, Six N. Five, and Hard. In addition to this IRL installation, the project will be displayed virtually in the metaverse world-building platform Mona, a supporting partner of the installation.

"The metaverse is all about compelling experiences," explained Justin Melillo, CEO, Mona. He continued, "As a platform that empowers brilliant minds to realize their full creative visions, we were thrilled for Mona to be home to Daniel Arsham's Ares House and the other breath-taking experiences in Everyrealm's The Row.”

Concepted and produced by Future Galerie, the immersive installation utilized large, high-resolution, LED screens to display an animated walk-through. An infinity mirror – crafted exclusively for this experience by Haze (Zac Hall and Adrian Stein) – created a kaleidoscope of video content culled from the Everyrealm/Mona spaces. Concert-level speakers enhanced the presentation, immediately transporting guests to a fully-digital metaverse realm.

The Row: Ares House has been featured in many high-profile press outlets, including Architectural Digest, Dezeen, desigboom, Hypebeast, Complex, and more.

Beyond just our hosted event, Ares House made an appearance at nft now's The Gateway 2022, bringing in celebrities like Anderson .Paak, Gary Vee, and Beeple.
